When I get a call indicator on the LPM reader line I never know what to expect. Unfortunately, I often return a call going to unidentified voice mail, not knowing if it ever reached the original caller. Many recordings don't identify who or what number was reached. Perhaps the problem went away, but we do try to return calls. Recently when I answered, the first question from a caller was "Do you have your periodic table handy?" That's a first for me. My reprinting of the abbreviation for elemental tin as "Ti" in my article on oil analysis was just too much for the caller to bear without duly reaming me out for the error. The right symbol for tin is "Sn;" doesn't everyone know that? After he got that off his chest I asked for his thoughts on the real reason for the article-the value of oil analysis.
