Aviation writers have been predicting the demise of leaded avgas since the 1980s. But the climate (both real and figurative) has changed and the pundits have the world convinced exactly what the primary cause is-us. In any event, I think leaded avgas will be gone within five years or less. In spite of the tiny contribution of lead in aviation fuel to any pollution, it's an easy and visible target And the engine makers want to be seen as trying to be "green."
