One of my responsibilities as public policy guy for the IES is giving presentations at monthly IES Section meetings-but only when I'm invited! My first speaking engagement for this new year was at the Roanoke Section's January dinner meeting, to which I am headed as I write this. I usually get invited to four or five Sections throughout the year to present at monthly meetings, regional conferences or other local events. It's one of the more enjoyable things I do in my job-even more enjoyable than speaking with obstinate Congressional members, some of whom seem to have the motto "Often wrong, but never in doubt."
