摘要

A uniaxial state of stress represents only one of an infinite number of triaxial stress conditions to which an element of concrete in a structure may be subjected throughout the loading history of the structure. Yet, most current design procedures have been developed on the basis of the assumption that it is sufficient for practical purposes to rely almost entirely on uniaxial stress-strain characteristics for the description of concrete behaviour.
