The Uttar Pradesh (UP) Government inIndia plans to distribute 400 solarpowered charkhas, or spinning wheels,to registered yarn spinners to improveefficiency and raise their income. Thestate will also be the first to recognise askhadi cloth woven on solar charkhas.The scheme may roll out from October2018 stated State Khadi Minister.
