Amid the gloomy export forecasts the Indian textile and apparels shipments to the key US market have recorded a sharp uptrend beating the overall recovery in the American market as well as the gains recorded by competitiorsrnThe pick up in India's export growth, seen progressively since the begining of this year, has been sharpening since April after well over a year of sluggish growth The latest export estimates for June shows a big jump in both thernapparel and the non apparel segments. According to data from the US Office of textile and Apparel (OTEXA) India's textile and apparel exports to the US reported a sharp 35 per cent surge on as annual basis in value terms in June, the highest by any major exporting nation and well above the growth recorded by Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Mexico and even China.
