The Government has approved additional projects under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP).rnThe decision, taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, will facilitate additional investment, employment generation and increase inrntextiles production.rnThe number of sanctioned projects will be limited so that committed liability of the new projects is within the balance amount of Rs 200 crore available from the SITP Plan allocation in the Tweleth Five-year Plan.rnThe guidelines of the scheme have been 'modified to provide for an exclusivernappraisal mechanism to analyse projects in detail to ensure viability and feasibility of such projects.
