Fabric filters are used for various filtration purposes in both dry and wet applications. Textile materials are advantageous because of their complicated structures and considerable thickness. The filter fabric possesses maximum collection efficiency, low-pressure drop, small filtering area with low cost. Fabric filters are used for various applications like dust filtration, gas purification, removal of suspended materials from liquids and gases. The paper discusses various factors, which influence the design of filter fabrics for specific applications.
