Generally tanning is used in dyeing of cellulosic fibers with basic dyes as mordanting and also in mordanting and weighting of silk fabrics. This paper deals the effect of back tanning on dyed silk fabrics, which is dyed by acid dyes. The back tanning treatment enhances the fastness property and also flattens the colour.
