Fugro recently began a marine site characterisation programme at Iberdrola's Baltic Eagle Offshore Wind Farm, 30km off the coast of the German island of Ruegen in the Baltic Sea. Work is scheduled to run until February 2019. The Netherlands headquartered company will undertake a UXO (unexploded ordnance) survey to clear the investigation sites, followed by a geotechnical seabed assessment and borehole drilling. The work scope also includes standard and advanced laboratory testing. Amongst others, the geophysical survey vessel Fugro Pioneer and geotechnical drilling vessel Fugro Scout which mobilised on this project. To enhance quality and operational efficiency, the proven Geobor-S piggyback drilling system will also be deployed during the project.
