This report analyses the retail market for household appliances. For the purposes of the report, the market has been divided into three main sectors: white goods, small electricals and consumer electronics. White goods 1. Cooking appliances: 1.1 Standard cooker units; 1.2 Microwave cooking appliances. 2. Refrigeration appliances: 2.1. Refrigerators. This includes standard free-standing upright, table-top and built-in refrigerators, the latter having been supplied as part of a fitted kitchen unit or system; 2.2 Fridge-freezer units. These are two or three door appliances with separate units for refrigeration and freezing operations, although the relative size of compartments varies widely. Standard refrigerators with a separate freezer compartment are not included; 2.3 Freezers. These can be divided into upright freezers, which are free-standing units, and chest freezers, which are horizontal and considerably bulkier. 3. Laundry appliances 3.1 Washing machines, including combined washer-dryer units 3.2 Dryers 3.3 Dishwashers.
