摘要

A set of buttons is designed and attached to the cabinet of mini Hi-Fi audio products. The press buttons provide a series of operating functions of the audio products. This paper concerns with a detailed analysis of the stresses and deflections in a stepped beam model used in the buttons. A stopper is suggested for the beam-black model to reduce the stress and thus lower the chance of stepped beam breaking. The analysis presented in this work is based on standard mechanics of materials theory that has been applied rigorously and correctly to the statically indeterminate problem considered. Symbolic expressions of the beam-block deflection and stress distribution are obtained by solving Different sets of simultaneous equations.
