The last time MEAT+POULTRY published what was then an annual, industry-specific survey of job satisfaction, salary and benefits was 2010. Just as the industry has evolved significantly since 2010, so too did the methodology in surveying more than 7,400 meat and poultry processing company executives in management and upper-management roles. Utilizing the proven expertise of Kansas City, Mo.-based Cypress Research Associates, MEAT+POULTRY commissioned the industry's most current salary, compensation and job satisfaction survey in cooperation with the North American Meat Institute (NAMI). The benchmarking results are based on 427 completed online surveys, including MEAT+POULTRY readers and NAMI members. With a response rate of approximately 6 percent, responses are divided by company sizes: those reporting annual sales of less than $100 million and those reporting sales in excess of $100 million.
