GAPO syndrome is a rare premature ageing syndrome characterised by growth retardation, alopecia, pseudoan-odontia and optic atrophy (GAPO). Since the first description by Anderson and Pindborg, less than 20 cases have been reported up to 1996. We report three nonrelated patients with GAPO syndrome. They represent the first cases from Eastern Europe. Some similarity of the phenotype of the father of one child and distinctive radiographic findings in the sec- ond child at the age of 1 month are to date unreported observations.
