摘要

Quantum dot Cellular Automata is an emerging technology which is considered to be a viable alternative to the conventional CMOS-VLSI technology for implementing digital circuits at nano-scale. QCA uses polarization of electrons in the QCA cell rather than voltage levels to represent binaiy information. The basic element in QCA technology is quantum dot cell where the logic states are encoded as position of electrons. It exploits the quantum effects resulting in small size of the system. This paper proposes and realizes new designs of QCA logic gates using multiplexers as the primary element. The designed logic gates offer advantages in terms of cell count, cell area, latency and complexity. The proposed logic gates can also be used to design more complex circuits employing use of one or more proposed designs of the gates. All proposed designs have been successfully simulated and verified using the QCADesigner tool.
