摘要

Terry fabrics basically belong to the group of pile fabrics, wherein additional yarn is introduced in such a manner that forms loops (called pile) to give distinct appearance. The use of towels in the export and domestic markets is constantly increasing. Terry towel is one of the growing and challenging sector of textile manufacturing. The water consumption for pre-treatment processes of terry towel fabric is from 50-120 I/kg. The wastewater becomes the main source of pollution for the environment. In this work an attempt has been made to reduce consumption of chemicals, water and energy during pre-treatment by combining the pre-treatment processes. An innovative graphene-based nano product - Eco-Prep - courteously supplied by M/S Nijananda Innovative Solutions, Ichalkaranji/lndia, was used for the experimental work. Experiments were planned by using design of experiments. Effect of the various parameters like Eco-Prep, caustic, peroxide, stabilizer, time and temperature on de-sizing efficiency, absorbency, sinking time, and whiteness were assessed.
