摘要

With increased global competition, many sectors within the European textile industry are facing a lot of challenges. Plasma technology opens enormous opportunities as an alternative to traditional textile wet processing. This paper discusses the commercial application possibilities of low-pressure plasma in textile finishing. Surface modification of textiles can be effectively performed, and surface properties strongly depend on the gaseous mixtures used. Nanoscaled coatings are required in order to obtain durable hydrophilization of textile surfaces. However, plasma activation can be used prior to subsequent wet processes.
