摘要

There have been circumstances in my experiences requiring that a part be blanked and still retained in the strip for further processing. This article will explain how that was achieved. Most of the parts that require the "blank and hold" method are narrow and long. The configuration is such that the scrap cannot be trimmed from both sides simultaneously as shown in Fig. 1. If it were trimmed on both sides, the die section would be long and narrow and couldn't adequately be supported because of the need for slug openings in the die set.
