摘要

As NATO air operations over Libya continued past the 100-day mark, a number of logistics and support issues arose in a short sequence in June. Italy reported that its Eurofighter Typhoon fleet had exceeded 1,000 hours flying missions in support of NATO since the conflict began on 19 March. This equates to a daily average of four to six individual missions since the Italian Air Force became involved. Although these flights have only been in air support roles, this is a high rate for an operator that has been slow in building up Typhoon flying hours. The RAF has been flying at least five to six Typhoon missions (including ground attack) per day. Questions have been raised about the long-term supportability of these aircraft at this sortie rate under the current arrangements.
