McGeorge Bundy and the Path to War in Vietnam, Gordon M. Goldstein, Holt Paperbacks, New York, 2008, 248 pages, $16.00. In 1995 former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara published his controversial memoir, In Retrospect: The Tragedy and Lessons of Vietnam, a publication that stoked passions of the Vietnam War that many thought Operation Desert Storm had put to rest. The memoir also stoked the passion of McNamara's counterpart, McGeorge Bundy, who determined that he finally needed to consider his own influential role in the conflict.
