As the most powerful nation in the world, the U.S. has taken steps to develop a new foreign policy strategy for a new era. In 2001, the events of 9/11 dramatically altered our national policy and ushered in the War on Terrorism. While important, this strategy emphasizes measures to address rogue elements and governments already sponsoring terrorism.
