Turkey put its vast defence capabilities on display at the 15th edition of the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) held 5-8 May 2015 in Istanbul. Over 400 companies from 32 countries participated in the show and showcased everything from tanks and rifles to helicopters and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. Both local and international arms manufactures used IDEF 15 to introduce numerous new defence capabilities and innovative products for the first time while others such as UKROBORONPROM said it will, "look for new co-production partners to manufacture devices which were not produced in Ukraine before and possible ways to replace Russian suppliers of constituent parts," at IDEF 15. Major companies such as Aselsan, FNSS Defence Systems, Havelsan, Roketsan, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), and other private Turkish firms introduced a bevy of new weapons systems. Drawing large crowds, e.g. Aselsan introduced a multitude of weapons systems including the Hybrid Weapon System, developed by using the existing MILAS and MUHAFIZ systems and TORK, an anti-torpedo-torpedo, that can used for destroying the acoustic homing, wire guided, unguided and wake homing torpedoes that are launched against surface ships.
