摘要

The MRO community is currently undergoing nothing less than a revolution. Easier to maintain weapons platforms and subsystems, new technologies used in different phases of maintenance, evolving business models and strengthened global networks are among the developments occurring across equipment portfolios. One significant trend in the MRO community finds OEMs of weapons platforms and on-board equipment making their materiel easier to maintain by front-line maintenance personnel and their counterparts at higher levels of the maintenance chain. In the maritime sector, marine gas turbines are used as prime movers for mechanical drive, hybrid or all-electric propulsion systems on-board an increasing number of naval ships around the globe. Dave DePauw, GE Marine sales manager, provided a compelling business case from the MRO perspective for equipping ships with gas turbines.
