It was inevitable. Drawing inspiration for the title of this column from an iconic and never-to-be-sufficiently-revered science fiction series made it likely that - at some point - Trekkie' references would creep in. The temptation has been resisted - manfully - for a year, since the first appearance of the column. But as our attention turns outward in this issue, the phrase "space, the final frontier" actually becomes entirely appropriate. That will be the last reference. Probably.
