C4ISR technology was the spearhead of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the "Global War on Terror." Emphasis on ISR aspects yielded huge gains for surveillance aircraft, sensor payloads and software upgrades to optimally collect, process, exploit and disseminate imperative data. As experts and politicians around the globe speculate what and where the next operational environment will be, security forces and industry drive toward what will be the next main focus of C4ISR technology: Electronic Warfare (EW).
