Raytheon's 3,000 European employees are successfully nurturing and harnessing indigenous European technology and expertise and "Raytheon's European companies service more than just the indigenous customer; they offer an extensive network of products and services that promote trade, while bolstering defence forces and civil security throughout the European region," stated James Monroe, Vice President Raytheon International during a visit by international journalists at some Raytheon European facilities. Raytheon UK, an industry leader in delivering defence and security solutions in the UK and abroad, is more than 100 years old and now has more than 1,300 employees. Well known are some key products such as the UK's SHADOW R Mk1 and Airborne Stand-off Reconnaissance (ASTOR) system, as well as the PAVEWAY IV Precision Guided Bomb and the JAVELIN anti-tank weapon.
