The 11th International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies (IDET) took place at the Brno Central European Exhibition Centre from 10-13 May 2011. Some 269 firms from 29 countries were reportedly participating in the exhibition, showcasing the latest in small-calibre infantry weapons, ammunition, anti-tank weapons, personal protection suites, handheld thermal imaging sensors, rifle sights, protected transport vehicles, vehicular and man-portable communications, helicopter systems, aircraft avionics, and land-based air defence systems. PZL-widnik S.A., an AgustaWestland company, the only helicopter manufacturer in Poland, sold the new military version of the W-3 SOK6t helicopter to the Armed Forces of Poland and the Czech Republic. The W-3 SOK6t is designed and developed in close cooperation with the Polish Land Forces and the Polish defence industry to provide a helicopter for different roles: CSAR, reconnaissance transport (10 soldiers or 2,100 kg of cargo), and combat support. For the latter, the helicopter carries improved equipment, including a new mission computer, digital data buses, multifunction displays, VHF, UHF, and HF communications, a digital map, a sight observation system (HUD, FLIR, laser RF), an NVG compatible cockpit, fuel tanks protected by neutral gas, flare dispensers, an IFF system, a radar warning receiver (RWR), and armament (rocket launchers, 23mm cannon, 12.7mm turret machine gun, air mine deployment system).
