The Serbs have received war wings very early. A hundred years have passed since the first balloons were provided for the Serbian Army. The first test flight was in Augsburg, Germany on 19 April 1909 with the flag of the Kingdom of Serbia on the balloon. At the time when the Air Forces of the leading states were formed, on 24 December 1912, the Air Force Command was set up in Nis. Since then, Serbia was on the list of the first 15 countries with aircraft in military use. The aircraft were first used in the First Balkan War, observing enemy positions on 29 March 1913 and followed by taking part in the fights for Scutari. The Serbian Army had its first armed aircraft in the spring of 1915, which was preceded by the training of a group of Serbian officers in France.
