2010 "will be a challenging year for the world economy and our industry" was Dr Lutz Bert-ling, Eurocopter's President and Chief Executive Officer, assessment of the company's fortunes for the next 12 months. Speaking at the company's press conference on 20 January 2010 at the chic Parisian 'Le 1515' restaurant, Dr. Bertling gave a frank summary of how he expects the company to fair across its military and civilian helicopter businesses. Although, "the civil market was a bit weaker" during 2009, Dr. Bertling noted that the military side of Eurocopter's business had performed well during over the past year, despite the global recession.
