Robert Wiseman Dairies has become the first Scottish headquartered company to sign up to the Courtauld Commitment. A voluntary agreement between WRAP (Waste & Resource Action Programme) and UK grocery organisations, the Commitment aims to reduce packaging and food waste. Wiseman has been working with its packaging suppliers for a number of years to reduce waste and as part of this exercise the humble milk cap was redesigned, making it 20% lighter. This represents a reduction of 133 tonnes of waste plastic being sent to landfill every year - enough plastic to fill 7 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
