So, after deliberating over how lockdown easing may end, Group Organisers Ian and Maria Parkinson decided that the end of May and early June would be perfect. Demand from members soon showed that we would need to find a way to accommodate more than last year. There are other places to stay in Tintern but none like Parva Farmhouse. Rooms overlooking the River Wye, food cooked to perfection by Roger, a Michelin Chef and a delightful ambience about the place. So we worked out that we would operate a Group 1 and Group 2 set up. With Group 1 staying 31st May to 3rd June and Group 2 staying 3rd June to 6th June. This meant we could take all rooms at the hotel. GROUP 1 Group 1 duly arrived on Bank holiday Monday 31 st May it was great to meet up with everyone again after the lengthy lockdown and welcome newcomers Martin and Wendy to the event. A beer or two before dinner helped the conversations flow as we caught up with what everyone had been doing during lockdown. The evening dinner was up to the usual superb standard of The Parva and the conversations were long. After an absolutely perfect nights sleep we all sat down to a hearty breakfast as usual. Today was quite a long Tour across the Brecons to do The Black Mountain Road, or "Top Gear Road" as it is known from when Mr Clarkson drove it in an AMG Mercedes. The route we planned took us across country for quite a few miles through little villages and stunning scenery. We then joined The Heads of the Valley A465 road where a fair pace was maintained till we reached Pontneddfechan, a delightful village in the Brecon hills known for its many waterfalls. The area is actually known as Waterfall Country. We had coffee and refreshments at Sgwd Gwladys Coffee House in the village. (Sorry, I have no idea how to pronounce it nor did anyone I asked !)
