In his book A Review of Racism Without Racists: Color-Blind Racism and the Persistence of Racial Inequality in America (4th ed.), Eduardo Bonilla-Silva confronts the current racial ideology in America, which he defines as color-blind racism, and provides a conceptual framework for understanding colorblindness and its function in society. According to Bonilla-Silva, in this post-civil rights era, most Whites would rarely identify themselves as "racist." Rather, they see race as an irrelevant factor in the United States, declaring that they "don't see color, just people."
