摘要

The annual Kenneth Myer Lecture is the pre-eminent event in the calendar of the Friends of the National Library of Australia. The lecture, established in 1990, honours the services of the late Kenneth Myer, both to Australia and to the National Library of Australia. As Chair of the National Library Council from 1974 to 1982, Myer worked closely with the National Librarians and Directors-General of the era. In later years, although no longer officially associated with the Library, he continued to offer generous support to the Library until his untimely death in 1992.
