EADS Germany had invited Naval and Defence Attaches accredited in Germany, representatives of the German Armed Forces, and of German Naval Industry for this 'Third Day of the Navy' to their Berlin representation. Following a presentation by the Chief of the German Naval Office, Rear Admiral Ulrich Otto, who elaborated on the Type F125 frigate as the 'flagship of transformation' of the German Navy, the Publisher of our sister journal NAVAL FORCES, Jan Wiedemann, set the conceptual framework by describing 'Future Roles and Concepts of Naval Forces'. From then on, it was up to EADS Germany to disclose various fields of naval activities, revealing that this company associated by many only as an aero industry 'big wheel' has long become a major naval player too. This highly informative third iteration of an EADS Navy Day was well frequented especially by representatives of the German Naval and Armed Forces Staffs and a number of attaches, who marked the date for the next venue (March 9th, 2006) already in their schedule for next spring.
