摘要

As a country seriously afflicted with desertification, China suffers a large area of desert land. Although desertification has been brought under control in certain areas, the whole situation is still deteriorating, which constitutes a great impediment to the harmonious development of population, resources and environment in the desertification-afflicted regions, which play a crucial role in the nation's social-economic development and environmental protection.
