摘要

The Nature Publishing Index Global Top 100 was developed as a result of the interest generated by the release of the Nature Publishing Index Global Top 50, which was launched simultaneously with the publication of the Nature Publishing Index 2010 (Asia-Pacific) in 2011. In response to requests from many readers for more extensive data, we have this year doubled the reach of the global index in this publication to present data on the top 100 world research institutions. The purpose of the global index is to allow our readers to gain an insight into where some of the best research in the world is being carried out across the broad range of fields encompassed by NPG's Nature-branded primary research journals in life sciences, physics, chemistry, materials, nanotechnology, photonics and geoscience.
