The World Health Organization (WHO) has failed to decide when to destroy the worlds last two remaining stocks of the virus that causes smallpox. A meeting of the WHO's decision-making body, the World Health Assembly, this week was supposed to produce a deadline, but the organization ended up deferring judgement until the 67th assembly meeting, in 2014.
