摘要

In the field of Naval Engineering, the use of life-cycle analyses associated with the concept of aging and time-dependent reliability has recently gained momentum. In this regard, the U.S. Office of Naval Research supports a project at Lehigh University focused on the development of an integrated life-cycle framework for ship reliability assessment, redundancy estimation, damage detection, and optimum inspection planning. This paper presents some of the results obtained at Lehigh University within this project, with emphasis on structural health monitoring and life-cycle analysis under uncertainty.
