I retired in May 2002, after working for just under 43 years - mostly for the UK Civil Aviation Authority. It was in July 1976 that I moved into what became the Dangerous Goods Office of the UK Civil Aviation Authority and I became a member of the Dangerous Goods Panel of the International Civil Aviation Organization in 1981, chairing all the Panel meetings from 1985 until I retired. Now my only interest in air transport is as a passenger.
