摘要

National Grid Wireless and Arqiva, the UK's two digital-terrestrial television transmission companies, have missed an Ofcom deadline for revealing how much broadcasters will have to pay to use their networks. The delay is understood to have created anxiety at Ofcom, the telecommunications regulator, which had planned to publish details of the so-called "reference offer" - in effect a price list of charges for access to transmitters - on September 15. Ofcom wanted documentation from the transmission companies ahead of this deadline. But a new date of September 29 has now been set. Ofcom said that it was confident of a positive outcome in finalising the reference offers, even though preliminary figures were first delivered to the regulator as long ago as December last year. There is now concern in some quarters that the stalemate could have a negative impact on the timetable for digital switchover.
