The BBC expects to sign up more technology partners as it seeks to extend its reach into emerging mobile and broadband audiences. Last month, the Corporation signed a non-exclusive memorandum of understanding with Microsoft Corporation to establish a framework for future joint projects, which could include search and navigation, distribution and digital rights management. It said that it was also in talks with computer technology group IBM, streaming-media vendor Real Networks and Linden Lab, maker of the Second Life virtual world. It is understood that there have also been talks with Apple, Sony and Google.
