摘要

Quantum computing, in which a quantum mechanical state represents logical information, promises extremely fast and fully parallel processing. It can perform complementary processes with the aid of conventional digital computers, or classical computers. In this article I briefly overview quantum computing, for which software and hardware are being developed, and describe a semiconductor quantum computer that uses quantum dot molecules. We have fabricated an artificial two-level system in a quantum dot molecule and have demonstrated quantum mechanical coupling with microwave measurements. Our results suggest that the quantum dot molecule can be used as the most fundamental device in quantum computing, a quantum bit.
