Les vieux ont toujours été menacés d'exclusion. mais le contexte socio-économique a considérablement évolué et il faut aujourd'hui distinguer plusieurs sortes d'exclusions. Les politiques publiques actuelles dans le champ de la vieillesse ne répondent pas aux attentes et besoins des personnes âgées. Elles ont une approche purement médicale, oubliant la dimension sociale du vécu individuel de la personne. Nous devons changer notre regard sur la vieillesse aussi bien dans l'évaluation des situations que dans les réponses apportées jusqu'à maintenant.%The aged have always been threatened with exclusion. But the socio-economic context has evolved considerably and we must distinguished several sorts of exclusions. Present day public policy in the field of old age does not appear to respond to the expectations and needs of older people. Public policy approaches age from a purely medical point of view, forgetting the social dimension of the personal life of the patient. We must change our view of old age both in our assessment of situations and in the responses furnished until now.
