Because I spend most of my time writing articles about the great package printing being done in our industry, I relish any tangible opportunity to see the best work being done out there. As you can imagine, it was a real treat for me when more than 130 entries were shipped to the Philadelphia offices of packagePRINTING for our 29th annual Excellence Awards. What made this year even more exciting was the Best of Show competition coming down to three different types of packaging-a folding carton, a flexible pet food bag and a whisky label. If you've been following this competition for the past few years, you may have assumed that the label would reign supreme, considering wine labels have taken home Best of Show in two of the past three years, but everyone loves an upset.
