Congratulations to the Cochrane Collaboration as this year marks the twentieth anniversary of this group. The Cochrane Collaboration is the largest global network of scientists, researchers, health policy-makers and consumer advocates involved in the production of systematic health care related reviews. Nearly one quarter of the Cochrane systematic reviews are of direct relevance to nursing care. To specifically influence nursing care, the Cochrane Nursing Care Field (CNCF) was established in 2009. The Mission of the Cochrane Nursing Care Field (CNCF) is to improve health outcomes by: (1) increasing the use of the Cochrane Library by nurses and others (such as formal and informal carers and other health professionals) involved in delivering, leading or research nursing care; (2) engaging nursing and others involved in delivering, leading or researching nursing care with the Cochrane Collaboration; and (3) supporting the Cochrane Collaboration and its role in providing an evidence base for nursing care. Since the establishment of the CNCF, membership has grown to over 1000 members in 25 different countries.
