John Durston, the former Amcor Flexibles chief, has returned to the industry frontline as non-executive chairman of Britton Group after the flexible plastics supplier was bought by HSBC's private equity arm. Venture capitalist LDC, which provided more than £l8m for the £46m management buyout (MBO) of the Cheshire-based group in 2004, had put the £100m-turnover firm up for sale in January.
