Smurfit Kappa, Europe's largest packaging and paper group, is set to re-enter the Chinese market.rnThe company pulled out of China in 2003, but in an interview with a national newspaper, chief executive Gary McGann said a list of potential takeover and joint venture targets had been drawn up.rnMcGann, who visited China with finance director Ian Curley last month, said that the country provides a great opportunity because its paper and packaging industry is fast-growing but fragmented. "It is almost inevitable that we will go back into China," he said.rnThe Daily Telegraph reported Smurfit was most likely to buy box-making factories. McGann said the firm might need three or four to achieve a feasible scale.
