Mettler-Toledo Safeline Metal Detection used Emballage 2012 as the launch platform for its Profile Select. The system uses variable frequency technology to overcome the 'product effect' or electrical signal induced in foods with a high moisture content or packaged in metallised film. The company also unveiled the X3310, an x-ray system said to give food and pharmaceutical manufacturers the same high level of foreign body detection sensitivity as a traditional x-ray system while using 20% less power.
