Macfariane Group has revealed it is starting to consider acquisitions despite posting a 33% drop in pre-tax profit last year. The Glasgow-based firm said group revenues had fallen by 6% to ￡123.6m. Pre-tax profit fell by a third compared to 2008 to ￡2.5m. Packaging manufacturing operations saw a steep decline in demand, while thernlabels business was hit by higher raw materials costs.
