The global problem of industrial waste has been intensifying its importance as an issue in pre- serving the earth's environment that affects not only people in related businesses but also the en- tire population of the earth. As this issue continues to grown in importance, manufacturers of home electronics are working to contribute to the preservation of the earth's environment by putting greater efforts into the more environmentally-conscious development of products and their packages, particularly in the areas of resource saving and recycling. This report introduces recent approaches being taken by the home electronics industry toward in- dustrial waste-related problems and trends in packaging in addressing these problems.
